It's impressive that Clint Johnson is also using the FeatherweightRC™s. His successful activity in SRS events, etc. gives Retriever Specialists' launchers exposure that counts in my opinion.
These days, more people seem to know the dogs and handlers of SRS™ (and other former worlds) than they do some of the top field trial dogs and handlers!
The new FeatherweightRC™ Model 808 or the new 810FWrc with adjustable volume, with the new sound system is an important addition to your wingers. Sound greatly assists getting dogs to look out on marks where needed. And it can help attract your dog to the area of the fall (if and when necessary). This addition alone makes the FeatherweightRC™ far more effective than they already were!
The 4, 808 FeatherweightRC™ set-up I'm using is helping out immensely and standing up to daily use. Anyone who knows me well knows how hard I am on equipment and the FeatherweightRC's™ are taking my hard use. They've even withstood a couple showers, when weather went bad and I could not just pick up, but instead finished up with remaining dogs to run.
We continually have room for more young dogs, as the one's we have, complete basics or force fetch and return home. We have a couple hunt test retrievers running finished, and a couple we hope might be able to run SRS competition next year. The FeatherweightRC™'s help us give every dog we coach the types of marks he/she needs, and are versatile enough to let us throw marks at nearly any distance and configuration imaginable!
Many hunters and retriever trainers I know haven't previously purchased wingers because of price, portability and efficiency. Some of these guys just want to get their own dog ready for the early goose season, and duck season are now able to with the affordability of the FeatherweightRC™. Practicing with the decoys, layout blind and getting the dog(s) warmed up with the kinds of "shots" they'll see every day in the field is pretty easy now, with the addition of a

I purchased three of these (Slinger) wingers in March 2008,they continue to work great 3 years later. Several HRC titles have been obtained through training with these wingers. I love the low profile, as they are easy to hide on setups. The ease of adjusting the height and distance of the marks, make them great for young dogs to advance marks for finish dogs. Maintenance is next to none. Keep them charged and
they are ready to go. Highly Recommended.
